Colorado Forests In Trouble

The Colorado State tree Farm Committee has sponsored a number of community meetings in the last year. The goal was to persuade more forest landowners to improve the health and sustainability of their forests by actively managing them.

We've talked to a lot of people but we'd like to reach more so we've converted our PowerPoint presentation into a video and uploaded it to YouTube. Take a look:

 Land Conservation Agreement Preserves
Scout Ranch

On Nov. 22, the Longs Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America and The Conservation Fund announced the permanent protection of the 50-year-old Ben Delatour Scout Ranch, a 3,201-acre property located 40 miles northwest of Fort Collins in Larimer County.

The Scout Ranch has long been a Tree Farm practicing and teaching sound forest stewardship through active forest management. This conservation agreement ensures that effort will continue.

Please send your questions regarding any forest management related issues to stumpmaker@gmail.com We'll find an answer for you.
